Light and air are the constraint on this shape, not floor area. With party walls down both sides, windows can only face the front and the back, so the rooms at the two ends get daylight and anything stranded in the middle does not. Put the bedrooms and the living space at the ends, and the bathrooms, the store and the stair in the middle where a window matters least.
Keep the route from the front door to the back of the house as short and as useful as you can.
